Hull Wash and Wax

• A detailed wash of the hull
• All waterline stains removed
• Two coats of wax
• cleaning of rub rail/ toe rail

Your hull needs care and protection from the sun reflecting off of the water. We recommend a hull wax twice a year. Once in the spring and once in the fall. We also offer hull washes throughout the summer in our Maintenance package. Southwinds services Awl Grip hulls using Awl Wash and Awl Care.

Hull Polish/Compound

• All Hull Wash and Wax services are performed
• Application of a cutting compound to remove oxidation
• Application of a polishing compound for extra shine

We use a cutting compound to remove all of the oxidation followed by a polishing compound. On top of this we add two coats of pure wax to protect from UV rays. For boats with only slight oxidation we offer a polish followed by a wax.

Anti-Foul Bottom Painting

• Light preparation of the bottom below the waterline
• Application of anti-foul paint of your choice

We typically start this process in the fall by power washing below the water line to remove any build up from the summer. In the spring we will give the bottom another light scrub just to remove any additional dirt before applying the anti foul paint. Depending on your type of paint this process may have to be done every couple of years or every season. We ensure that all through hulls are taped for protection.

Shrink Wrap Removal

• Removal and disposal of shrink wrap and frame

We offer this service because we only have a short period of time to wash and wax your hull before launch. By letting us take down your shrink wrap it saves you a trip down to the boat yard earlier than you would like. It also guarantees that your hull will be waxed and bottom painted before launch.
